SMAS Facelift vs DEEP PLANE Facelift

Both are popular techniques for facial rejuvenation, but they differ in their approach and the results they deliver. SMAS Facelift

SMAS stands for Superficial Musculo-Aponeurotic System. This is a layer of tissue that covers, surrounds, and attaches to the deeper structures of the face and neck, primarily the muscles that are responsible for facial expressions.

Repositioning the SMAS layer: This technique adjusts this layer by surgically repositioning it to achieve a more youthful appearance. The skin and the SMAS layer are treated as two separate entities; the SMAS is tightened or lifted, and then the skin is redraped over the newly enhanced framework.

Benefits: The SMAS facelift is effective at addressing moderate sagging and jowling. It can create a more natural-looking lift by tightening the underlying muscle and connective tissue.

Recovery and Results: Patients typically experience a recovery time of 2-3 weeks. The results are durable and can last anywhere from 10 to 15 years, helping to reduce the appearance of aging in the mid to lower face and neck.
